Hail Damaged Neighborhood in South Denver

The Backcountry neighborhood of Highlands Ranch was hammered with up to baseball sized hail Monday afternoon.  One resident, Elysia Summerlin said, “I think we have a total of six windows broken, one cracked and then 80 percent of our screens are probably going to have to be replaced.”  This family just moved into their new house only six weeks prior and more hail storms are in the forecast for Tuesday afternoon.  The greater Denver area is known for some pretty serious hail storms in late spring/early summer and late summer/early fall.  This is mostly due to the fact that weather is dry and because of our altitude the hail doesn’t have time to melt before hitting the ground.

An important thing to remember is that most roofing companies offer a free hail damage assessment, and if needed, they will walk their customers through insurance claim’s process.  But don’t get caught up in insurance fraud by having the Roofing Insurance company pay your deductible, Governor Hickenlooper and the Senate made that practice illegal in 2012 by passing Senate Bill 38.  Colorado Construction does not get involved in those schemes like many Colorado Roofing companies have and still do.  If you would like a free inspection from us, please contact us at 720-449-2662.
